Mountain Heights is situated on the edge of Tongariro National Park, a Dual World Heritage Area. An ideal place from which to explore the mountains and volcanoes of the Central Plateau.Activities abound for all abilities, including the world renowned Tongariro Alpine Crossing, classed as the best one-day walk in New Zealand. Excellent mountain bike rides, horse trekking, canoeing the Whanganui River and scenic flights across the volcanoes. For the less strenuous, enjoy the comfort of our centrally heated lodge. Soak in the hot spa or relax in front of the log fire with a good book or a game of chess. After a good night’s sleep enjoy a delicious breakfast with freshly baked bread.
