Sixteen years ago Sally and Don arrived in Wanaka and built their retirement home on a weed infested and wind battered block of land near the lake. Today it sits sheltered among mature trees and an established private garden with lovely dry stone walls and places to relax away from the crowds. Don flew ski planes and became an airline pilot, then he and Sally had a mixed-cropping and sheep farm before retiring to this idyllic spot with gorgeous mountain views and access to some of the best fishing and cycling/walking tracks in the world. Two bikes and a kayak are available for guests to use and three ski fields are close by. As there are so many pursuits and attractions, guests are given a warm welcome and help in deciding where to go or the option to just ‘chill out’ to make their holiday a very special one.
