Wanted: Guests full of the joy of life for the delightfully bijou Abseil Breakfast Inn. Applicants must have a hearty appetite for a leisurely breakfast of local delicacies – after all breakfast is our middle name. Mingling with other guests is required (in the guest lounge, on the deck or at the communal dining table in the morning) – can your tall stories better Helen’s? Enjoyment of sunsets behind stunning rural scenery an advantage; wine glass in hand optional. Having an adventurous attitude towards the bedroom aspect of the stay is an essential; these are themed to the utmost skill and imaginative reach of the hostess, including the Farm Room with its spectacular views out over the Waitomo Valley, the Bush Room with its magnificent canopy, the Swamp Room with its bath built for two and a range of bath oils and candles, and the hairy but cuddly Cave Room. You must be adventurous – overly faint of heart will not make it up the driveway. And above all you must ‘Approach with Enthusiasm’. Recommended by most good guide books and chance-met strangers. Fodor’s pick 2010.
DIRECTIONS: Turn opposite the Red Rabbit shearing shed. |
