Avarest, in the heart of Nelson Lakes National Park, overlooks Lake Rotoiti, a 2 min walk to the water’s edge. Our luxury mountain retreat is nestled amongst mature native forest filled with the sound of bellbirds and tuis. About 130 Rhododendrons flower progressively from September to January. Guest rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated with the downstairs area only for our clients, which includes bathroom, lounge/library plus tea and coffee making facilities. Avarest breakfast is as simple or elaborate as your appetite requires. Pre-dinner drinks and finger food served around 5-ish. Lunches and dinner by prior arrangement. Kiri, the cat, will welcome you.
