Captain Eady’s Lookout is a delightful Bed & Breakfast situated on the water’s edge at Portobello on the Otago Peninsula, just twenty kilometres from Dunedin. This character house is set on a small bluff overlooking the Otago Harbour. It was built early last century by Captain Eady, a ferry master. The upstairs bedroom, with its own balcony, overlooks the water. The bedroom below opens onto a secluded garden. You may have a special breakfast in the conservatory whilst taking in the splendid views of the harbour. The house has many antiques and on the walls are paintings by local artists. Feel free to enjoy our large jazz collection. Captain Eady’s Lookout is an ideal base from which to explore the Royal Albatross Colony, Larnach’s Castle, and ocean beaches deserted, save for penguins and seals.
